The team behind Cloud People, had a clear objective: to create a business-oriented cloud community that would revolutionize the field of cloud alliances management. Their aim is to provide exclusive, high-level education, and networking opportunities while maintaining an open and welcoming attitude.

To convey exclusivity and high quality, we needed a brand that reflected our vision, curiosity, and human touch.

After careful consideration, we decided on the name Cloud People. We opted to go for a name that’s not entirely literal in favor of evoking a sense of vision and community.

There are many cloud logos on the market, most of them feeling somewhat dated or overdone at this point.

How could we then use the literal cloud motive without it seeming tacky?

After a thorough visual exploration we’d arrived at a delicate system of abstract shapes that closely resemble clouds and people. Within it we felt existed a vast potential to develop a wider visual language to serve Cloud People for many years forward.

The resulting logo is an abstract cloud that morphs into a person, from left to right, symbolizing a single community member’s growth through their participation.

For the color scheme, we wanted a dark background to emphasize the group’s exclusivity while still having plenty of colors to play with. Content creation is one of the core aspects of the community, and we wanted to have many options to play with, including the ability to color-code various content types.

A community’s most valuable asset is its members, and Cloud People is no exception. Therefore, we designed the website to showcase members with various animations of “floating member cards.” The animation emphasizes the representation of cloud professionals and companies involved, creating a sense of belonging and social proof.

As always, seeing our work come to life is a thrilling experience. At Cloud People’s first face-to-face workshop, we had a variety of branded items and swag available for attendees.
